Let’s unpack boo’s gift : Part 1 - The mighty mouse
November 7, 2008 | 59 Views | 1 Comment

In the beginning, there was one button. Then there were two. Then there were clickable scroll wheels and programmable toggles and solid-state slides. Hahaha. I finally got my new Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse. Lovee it! Thanks Babe!
I knew I’ll be getting a mighty mouse so I didn’t get myself a wireless mouse when I bought my mac. Using a tailed mouse, my imouse (kuno), while working at home or on the go is not that comfortable, at least it was white and its name is imouse. Harhar! I gave my microsoft wireless mouse to my sister, it was dark colored and it wouldn’t look so good with my macbook. Shallow! But true.
The box it came in with was really neat, it’s like it’s telling me that inside is something really special. Like its tailed predecessor, wireless Mighty Mouse looks like a Johnson & Johnson soap:) . It has a clean design unmarred by unseemly buttons. It’s configured as a single-button mouse for easy adoption by long-time Mac users, though actually it has four buttons hidden within the shell. The sensors automatically and accurately distinguish between right and left clicks, providing the functionality of a multi-button mouse.
The scroll ball on the top of the Mighty Mouse is superior compared to scroll wheels found on other input devices because it can scroll vertically, horizontally, and even diagonally. A tremendous time- and effort-saver because you can pan around large documents (like long Web pages or huge photographs) without moving the cursor to the scroll bars.
Apple claims that this wireless Mighty Mouse’s new laser-tracking engine is 20 times more precise than the optical technology employed in the wired Mighty Mouse. I’m not sure if its true but I can say this mouse worked perfectly on a wide range of test surfaces, from smooth plastic to textured fabric.
There’s also an on/off switch on the underside to ensure the mouse isn’t inadvertently activated when tossed into a portable bag.

Yahoo acquired by Microsoft?
February 26, 2008 | 184 Views | 2 Comments
Early this month Microsoft proposed a 42- billion-dollar acquisition of Yahoo, a classic case of a buyer overbidding to blow any potential competitors out of the water said James Owers, a Georgia State University professor of corporate finance. Suprisingly, I found this while exploring Flickr, a popular online photo management and sharing application acquired by Yahoo almost 3 years ago, in search for the best online gallery solution. Holy smoke, what does Office Live gallery ad doin’ in Flickr?

HP staff browsing Friendster.

Surprisingly, I found this in my visitor log. Someone from HP was browsing Friendster and landed in my site… while at work. LOL. A lot people do these, I mean browsing from a company owned computer during office hours, farting around on the web checking their email, playing online games and reading the forums while at work. Do I need to post more? LOL

Macbook keyboard shield

I went back to Power MAC Center in Greenbelt today. I was hoping I could get a transparent keyboard shield. It was out of stock the last time I visit, and I was still unlucky today. So I got myself a white keyboard protection shield instead. It cost me PhP 1,400. More expensive than the transparent one but i’ts definitely worth it. It’s smooth and soft to touch and beautifully fits Macy. It can keep a dirt, fluid, food and other junks out.

This is a transparent shield from Macessity and cost $14.99 only.

This is macy with her new keyboard shield.
I also did a little shopping. I bought 5 tops and a retroish cardigan. They were cute but thin. I shop bargain stuff every now and then but wouldn’t recommend buying them.

I am now a not-so-proud Ipod Shuffle owner. A gadget incentive from the office for getting the highest score in Customer Satisfaction and Quality. I actually wanted to sell it since I’m really not into digital audio player, but Dyu insisted that I keep it. So I’m keeping it.
I wish though they gave me red. Every iPod shuffle, iPod nano, or iTunes Gift Card (PRODUCT) RED sold go directly to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa..
